Common questions
- What does membership cost?
- Nothing. There are no dues, no signup fee, no per-order fee, and no minimum spend. If anyone describes ICPA to you as having a membership cost, they are not describing ICPA.
- Then how does ICPA get paid?
- Contracted suppliers pay ICPA an administrative fee, typically a small percentage of what member practices buy under the agreement. That fee comes out of the supplier's side of the contract — it is not added to your invoice. This is the standard group purchasing model, and it is the reason membership can be free.
- Do I have to switch anything?
- No. Joining does not cancel a contract, change a vendor, or commit you to buying anything. Plenty of practices join, look at the pricing, and decide the timing is wrong. That is a perfectly good outcome.
- What if I use Quest rather than LabCorp?
- Tell us on the form. We ask who you use today precisely so we can compare your current rates against what the alliance can offer. If your existing pricing is already better than what we can get you, we will say so instead of wasting your time.
- Is this tied to a software product?
- No. ICPA does not sell an EHR, a practice management system, or any other software, and joining does not require you to install, integrate, or migrate anything. What you get is contract pricing and the vendor paperwork handled.
